MIchael's Quest

Tri-Force - Faith, Hope, Charity

June 2008

I guess when the title is a date that means not much is happening - could be a good or bad thing.

Well we're about done with therapy and the Rehab Institute.  Michael has made some progress with his head control, with voicing and with his arm movements but it is slow, hopefully we can be consistent with a plan at home and continue the progress.

I still haven't moved on the van cause I'm still hung up on the financial side of it.  Some time in the next few weeks we'll be sending it off though and once we get it converted it will be much easier to move Michael and with that he'll be able to get out more often.

We're off to Columbia for a checkup tomorrow.  There's a young guy named Justin who was in a car accident, he's in the University Hospital in Columbia.  Christine got the info on him, he's going down a similar path to Michael's but it appears his injury wasn't near as bad.   Justin Foster is his name, please remember  him and his family in your prayers.

Thanks for stopping by,

Kirk

Kirk and Christine.....Thank you so much for posting the information about Justin Foster.  Kirk, I want to thank you for going to the hospital in Columbia to see Justin yesterday.  I know it took effort to go there.  I want to thank Michael and Debra (his nurse), too.  I talked to Justin's father, Brian (BJ) and he said he missed seeing you.  He said he hung around the hospital until about 1:30 hoping to get to see you. I told BJ that you left a note for Melanie (Justin's mom) and him.  BJ is now able to go home from the hospital at night and stay at home and get good rest instead of sleeping on the hospital visiting room floor.  BJ said he feels Justin is "out of the woods" and this allows him to travel home to Moberly (about 45 minutes from Colubmia) to check on his business, and sleep at home.  BJ said that the prayers everyone has lifted up for Justin have worked miracles.  I can't thank you and everyone for all the praying they did for our Justin.  You and Christine are doing God's work.  Michael is, too.  I get on this site every now and then and check on Michael.  I am glad that he is making progress, too.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You guys are awesome.  Glenda Foster ("aunt" of Justin, and co-worker of Christine.)

Glenda, you are welcome.  Sorry I missed Brian. The nurse had just given Justin something for pain so he was sleeping, he did open his eyes and look up at them a little bit.  Justin looks good!  While I was there a couple therapist came to work with him and said they wanted to get him up in a chair.  This is awesome!!  It's good news and it is good that they are looking at "recovery" already.  Very encouraging.

If you have any questions that we can help with feel free.  You will all be in our prayers.
